Message From Your Governor
Brothers;
Here it is the beginning of July already. Hopefully everyone escaped any major hail damage in June.
Recently the lodge has upgraded the lights in the dining hall. We have gone all LEDs. This should help with the electric bill. If you haven't been to the lodge recently, I would encourage you to stop by and see the upgrade. I would like to thank everyone who volunteered to help with this project.
On the 4th of July from 1 to 3 we will be hosting a membership appreciation BBQ. The meat will be provided by the lodge (hamburgers and hot dogs). We do ask that you bring a side dish with you.
Last, myself and Dean will be attending the international convention from the 27th of June to the 1st of July. I'm hoping to bring back some good ideas for our lodge.
Fraternally,
Willie Stackhouse
Message From Your Senior Regent
Dear Co-Workers,
Happy July!
This summer seems to be flying by.
If you read last month’s newsletter, you may be interested to know that the Cheyenne Chapter voted to join the Wyoming- Western Nebraska Association. As of my writing of this letter, not all Chapters in the Association had held their meetings and voted yet. When I have more information, I will share it. I would like to dispel some incorrect information I heard in regards to our joining the Association.
The women’s dues are not increasing; This does not give anyone else access to our funds nor are we sharing accounts with the Lodge; There is a meeting scheduled in November to pursue the idea of the men and women becoming “One Moose.”
“One Moose” Town Hall Meeting
The Grand Council of the Women of the Moose and Supreme Council of the Loyal Order of Moose have worked hand-in-hand for the past two years to establish a strategic plan for women and men to have an equal voice, standing, and opportunity in every Moose Lodge throughout our Fraternity. The idea of “One Moose” membership has been around for decades and un l now has only been about talking and not doing. The time has come for our Fraternity to take action and establish a path forward whereby a husband and wife, brother and sister, and female and male friends have the same opportunity to serve on the Board of Officers and have a lawful vote and voice into the business, pro- grams and activities of the Lodge.
There will be meeting at the Rosen Shingle Creek property in Orlando, Florida, November 1-2, 2019. On November 2nd there will be a full day of open dialogue, presentations and panel sessions focusing on just one topic – One Moose Membership! Members of Moose International staff , Grand Council members and Supreme Council members will be a attending.
For more information visit https://www.mooseintl.org/one-moose-town-hall-meeting/
Stop by the lodge for a meal, some conversation, a visit with friends, or a cool drink! We’ve missed seeing you!
