Message From Your Governor
January is finally here and it’s a new year. Hopefully everyone had a great Christmas and New Year’s eve.
I am pleased to welcome two new board members, Keith Adkison and Scott Duncan.
On the 22nd the men had their Christmas dinner, which was a success.
The Moose Legion is once again selling raffle tickets for half a pig. They are ten dollars each or three for twenty dollars. You can get with any legionnaire to purchase tickets.
Dean, our administrator had a successful surgery and is back at work.
Finally, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
Fraternally yours,
William “Willie” Stackhouse Governor
Message From Your Senior Regent
Dear Co-Workers,
Welcome 2020! I hope when all of you reflect on 2019 it was a great year for you. As we look towards 2020, New Year’s Resolutions come to mind. The tradition of New Year's resolutions dates all the way back to 153 B.C.
Resolutions can come in many forms. Some people make a promise to change a bad habit, such as quitting smoking or eating less junk food. Other people make a promise to develop a positive habit, such as starting an exercise program, volunteering in their community, or recycling more. Personally, I have never been keen on making a resolution — except to be a better person that I was the year before. Be kinder, be more patient, talk less listen more.
There is a Swedish proverb that I kind of like:
Fear less, hope more; Eat less, chew more; Whine less, breathe more;
Talk less, say more; Love more, and all good things will be yours.
Best wishes for peace and prosperity in 2020. Wishing you a fresh start with renewed energy and confidence throughout the New Year. Happy New Year! May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door!
Cheryl Timm
Senior Regent
Message From Your Administrator
Hello Brothers and Sisters:
t’s January 2020 the start of a New Year.
One of the biggest changes is that Moose International went Tobacco Free as of January 1st this will also include Vaping, our Lodge went non-smoking a few years back but it did not include vaping also they included chewing tobacco so you will not be able to have a spit cup while in the Lodge.
We have discontinued the Taco Night on Tuesdays there just wasn’t enough interest in the dinner to keep it going at this time.
This month the officers and men’s membership meetings will be January 9th and January 23rd. see calendar for times, all LOOM members are encouraged to come to the men’s membership meetings and be a part of what goes on in your lodge.
We are always looking for new help in the kitchen to help with existing meals or even new ones, If you would like to volunteer at the Lodge you can call me at the Lodge 632-9579 email me at cheyennelodge257@bresnan.net or just talk to any lodge or Chapter Officer and let them know what you might be interested in.
I would like to also Welcome all our New Members to the Lodge and Chapter, like always if you see a new member in our Lodge Please take the time to say hello and welcome them into our Lodge.
Check out your January calendar for all other upcoming events and meals. Let’s start 2020 on a good note Please help support your Lodge, Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
Thank You for all that you do.
Thank You All for supporting your Lodge and the Moose Mission.
Fraternally yours:
Dean Straub – Administrator
